Raytheon Hawker 850XP

The Hawker 850XP has Raytheon-designed winglets, and it is the most recent aircraft in Hawker's 800 Series; upgrades of which began with the 400XP in May 2003. The 850XP's winglets are made of composite, lightweight materials, and are meant to provided greater ramp presence and aerodynamic performance without interfering with the airframe's inspection schedule.

Hawker 850XP The Hawker 850XP's range has increased by one hundred nautical miles over previous models, and other improvements are an 8% increase in the speed with which the plane climbs to cruising altitude, along with greater air and block speeds. The Hawker's winglets are standard-equipped with LED positioning lights that have an MTBF (mean time between failure) of 5,000 hours.

According to Brad Hatt, GM and president of Raytheon's Hawker Business, the entire 800 Series is a blend of comfort, range and speed, and the line is continually evolving. The upgrades to the plane were done in order to meet the rising requirements of pilots, and it is still the best-selling midsize jet in the world. The 850XP also has an improved scheduled maintenance interval; down to 300 hours from 600. At 300 hours, a walk-around inspection is the only thing that's required, which cuts down on downtime and maintenance costs.

Hawker's 850XP has the same improvements that are found in the 800XPi, which are an upgraded Rockwell Collins avionics suite, and an updated interior which already set standards for comfort and quality. Along with those improvements, there is an Airshow 21 CMS and a five-year warranty on the avionics, engines and airframe.
